Toray to introduce waterless offset printing technology at Metpack 2020
At Metpack 2020, scheduled for five to 9 May in Essen, Frg, Toray will brand its debut appearance, bringing the value of waterless get-go press to this audience for the showtime time. Metpack is the about of import global meeting place for the international metal packaging industry.
Toray has more than thirty years' experience in development of press plates and plate processing equipment for waterless beginning printing, which has been widely adopted in many other press industry segments but is nevertheless a new concept in metal packaging. The engineering enables more than efficient production than conventional kickoff printing using water dampening systems. It eliminates the difficulties with ink and h2o balance that cause inconsistent quality throughout the print run and enables superior quality printing on non-absorbent materials such as metal. Toray's Imprima plates and waterless offset printing technology also eliminate the need for utilise of alcohol and other toxic chemicals in the printing process; utilize no water, preserving that precious resources; and produce less waste product.
"With traditional offset printing, the process requires the use of a dampening solution that contains water and other chemicals, including alcohol, a volatile organic compound (VOC) that evaporates chop-chop contaminating the air that the employees must exhale, and with a very low flash point that makes the pressroom a more dangerous environs. Then, in addition to conserving water and delivering exceptional quality, waterless offset printing creates a safer, more environmentally friendly work surround and a much smaller ecology footprint in the pressroom," explains Mitsunori Hayashi, director of Graphic Partitioning at TTCE.
Toray will be located in Hall 2, Booth D31, at the show.
